It is indeed a proud moment that for the first time in history the CTR will be having women as nature guides.
According to the reports, a guide recruitment test was held on Wednesday by the Corbett administration.
102 women appeared in the test amongst which 7 women have qualified.
These women will further be given a 14 days training to equip them with necessary skills, after which they'll become the certified women guides of CTR.
This initiative has been taken to foster livelihood for the native women villagers.
All the selected women belong to eco-development committees located in the outskirts of Corbett Tiger Reserve.
It is appreciable that such steps are being taken for offering equal opportunities to women.
These selected women will surely outshine as nature guides and inspire more women in taking up this profession.
