Whether you're in the main zone of Jim Corbett or in the buffer region, your odds of seeing wildlife are the same. Jim Corbett National Park has always been noted for its diverse array of wild flora and fauna. Sitabani has traditionally been a popular tourist destination since a permit can be obtained at the time of the safari from the Sitabani Forest Area's entry gate without having to pre-book one. Due to the monsoon, Sitabani was closed from June through November, but the Forest Department has now formally declared that it will reopen in the first week of November. Since there is no set restriction on the number of Jeeps that can enter the forest, this may change in the near future.
