NGT stopped illegal trees cutting in Pakhro zone

Corbett Online 25 October 2022

As a result of the Uttarakhand government's confirmation of illegal tree cutting, the central National Green Tribunal (NGT) agreed to delay the project till the central government completes the report on unlawful tree cutting within the Corbett reserve region. It is anticipated that the NGT, which consists of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Sudhir Agarwal, will maintain the Forest Survey of India's identification of illegal tree cutting.

According to the NGT, the amount of trees that are legally permissible is greater than the amount of trees that they are requesting for the reserve area, which is unacceptable from the standpoint of causing environmental harm or endangering wildlife.
